The Design Museum was the first thing on the list in London.
I’d been meaning to take a trip up to see the Hussein Chalayan exhibition for some time and it was well worth the wait, some truly amazing work. For me, the Spring/Summer 2007 collection is the stand out work. However, from purely a design perspective it is fascinating to see the way such a ground-breaking designer approaches his work. Check out his website here.
The Designs of the Year exhibition was also happening whilst I was there so I had a look round but to be honest it was a bit of a disappointment. With work from so many different disciplines, for me the content suffered although it was good to see my personal book of the year, ‘Digital By Design’ by Troika get a look in on the nominations. Their website here.
A poke around the Design Museum Shop rounded off the visit, I just wish I had purchased this as now it’s out of stock online, gutted.
