Hamish Muir

Hamish Muir visited the AIB yesterday to talk about his typographic practice. I found him insightful and interesting, particularly his discussion into working in the days before the apple mac. However I can’t say I agreed with everything he had to speak about, particularly that the design can seemingly come before or without a strong concept. After spending the best part of three years pursuing a very conceptual programme of study it is a hard truth to hear or believe in.

  1. I agree with your post. His work was nice, but obviously he is from the Pre-Mac days and you can tell. I thought his advice was really nice. Its always good to have an insight into another designers life, in terms of starting up in the big wide eyed world.
