Another couple of articles from the AIGA…

‘Web Design as Foreign Language’ by Steven Heller, discusses the changing technical vocabulary of design and the needs of the contemporary practitioner to keep up to date with it. More importantly in my eyes however, it is insightful to see how quickly the industry can change and the challenges this poses to even the most experienced and established designers.

‘How is AIGA Helping Designers Survive the Recession?’ by Richard GrefĂ© shares insights into the current challenges faced by the design industry to survive the recession. Obviously, this is particularly relevant to me as I am about to graduate in troublesome times but I think it is important to see how the current climate can be used to ones advantage. Start small. Think big.
